Family stories
Did someone in your family build the machines?
Grandparents who riveted bombers, wired tanks or ran a lathe on the night shift. Their photos, letters, pay stubs and stories help us get the details right, and some of them end up in an episode.

Workers in Birth of the B-29 (War Film No. 30, 1944-45). The film doesn't name them.
What helps
- Who they were and where they worked: the plant, the city and the years.
- What they did: the job, the department, the shift.
- Photos or scans: badges, ID cards, pay stubs, letters, clippings, pictures at work. Phone photos are fine.
- The story in your words, as long or as short as you like.
- How you'd like to be credited: full name, first name, or no name.
How we use it
- We ask before using anything, and we tell you which episode it's for.
- We credit you the way you choose.
- You keep your rights. We only ask to show it in the episode and on this site.
- We never publish addresses, phone numbers or anything you mark private.
- Changed your mind? Tell us before the episode is out and we take it out.
